External Sound Card Recommendations
I am running Sib Ultimate, using NotePerformer, on an HP Pavilion, Win 10, 12GB memory, very decent cpu speed. Runs fine. However, my Soundblaster Play! always stops working with Sibelius, generally in just a few moments after I start playback. I've always used an SB device, but I'm willing to try s...

Sibelius Mixer evolution
Hmmm.. The Mixer in the Play menu has gotten weird. It's 3 times as big as it used to be, which is just a bit of a hassle. But my main complaint is that it now automatically applies panning to instruments, panning that I don't want. Anyway to turn this behavior off?

Soundblaster Play! Quits w/Sibelius
I've started having a problem with a fairly new sound device (less than 9 months old). My SB Play! has worked wothout any issues for months since I bought it, but in the last 2-3 weeks, it has been very problematic. I can start Sibelius and use it for several minutes, and then I hear a little "pfft"...

Making enough space for lyrics
I've actually had this issue for years, but I finally thought, "Maybe I don't have to do this tedious thing, maybe someone has a suggestion." Here's the deal. When I add lyrics to a song, by default I set the Note Spacing Rule it to 2 spaces (default is .75). Then I Reset Note Spacing. Which takes c...

Looking for a procedural tip changing time signatures
Okay, here’s something that happens not infrequently when I’m writing (or editing). Say I’m in 4/4 (90% of the time, that’s true). I’ve written lots of measures, then go back and realize that what I really needed at one point was a measure of 2/4, and I need to chop out out a half measure. That’s th...

Guitar Strummer Plugin?
Is there such a thing? I can't find anything in the deliverd plugins whose name indicates it would do this. Basically, I'd like to provide, say, halfnote rhythm guitar chords, and then have a brilliant plugin convert it to some semblance of strumming. It is so tedious trying to write this manually. ...

Export graphics
I’m exporting graphics images of vocal scores to create a video that follows the music, with page turns to allow the viewer to follow along. Best way to share the “vocals”, which are being realized by Sibelius synth voices, so the viewer can match the melody with lyrics. I import the resulting MP3 a...

Re: Parts Don't Stay With File
Perhaps I've not been clear. I can certainly create a new part by selcting a staff and pressing w. But I have created parts with multiple instruments (I like to use this approach to isolate a set of instruments during playback; yes, I could select the staves, but this is something I tend to do repea...

Parts Don't Stay With File
This is happening with some regularity. I create a new Part, save the file, take it to another machine, but when I open the file, the part is not there. Shouldn't parts travel with the file?

Re: Ultimate on second computer
So I just need to upgrade the other 7 version? When I tried that, Avid would not let me enter the activation code I already had, nor attempt to get another for that computer.

Re: Ultimate on second computer
That has definitely always been true. I have 7.x on two computers, no problem. Sibelius Ultimate seems to be a horse of a different color. I can’t get it to register on a second computer. The Avid web site is ambiguous on the matter. For everything up to version 8, it definitely states that the two ...

Ultimate on second computer
I think I've been down this particular rabbit hole before, but my memory is not what it used to be. I have Ultimate/Perpetual. Can it be installed and registered on a second computer? I fear the answer is no, but my sense of justice and fairplay (not to mention precedent) screams out "That can't be ...

Converting triplets to dotted
I have a blues (show) tune that I wrote using triplets everywhere to give it the swing it needs. However , I fear the resulting vocal score is gonna frighten singers (it would scare the hell out of me :) ). For some reason, I thought Sibelius at one time had a plugin that would convert triplets to t...
