I think I would have to see on paper what hyou are trying to do. Could you attach a jpg or something? There might be a completely different why to do what you want. There are note symbols you might be able to use instead of the usual notes entered on the staff. I'm not sure what you are after.

Re: cajon notation and assigning sounds
From the menu, select House Styles. Select Edit Instruments. On the left, All Instruments may already be selected. In the next box to the right, select Latin American Unpitched Percussion. Next box to the right double click Cajon (2 lines). Select it in the last box and select Edit Instrument. Down ...

Re: Aligning graphics
Nope.
I've used Sibelius since v4. I haven't used 6 since I updated to 7. There were many complaints about the ribbon. There are things on the surface that seem different, but for the most part things are the same underneath. Plus the sounds are so much better.

Re: cajon notation and assigning sounds
In 7 it is done through "Edit Instruments". Look in your manual to see if there is something similar. I'll bet there is. My copy of 6 is on a desktop that is packed away. If I get a chance to fire it up, I'll be happy to check it out.

Re: cajon notation and assigning sounds
What version of Sib is this? In 7 it is possible to assign sounds to the top line. If you put a note there and change the notehead to an "x" you will hear a sound. It is the wrong sound, however. I can help you edit the cajon sound in 7, but not any other version.

You would have manually installed them in the Application Data folder. Where that folder is differers depending on what OS you are using.

Andy's idea of four staves is what you need to do if you want more volume from four horns playing the same notes. if you don't care to write four staves and playback is all you are concerned about, you could put a higher dynamic on the unison notes.

The only way I know of to save edits like this is to "Export as a House Style", in the Apperance tab.

Re: ASIO Setup Problem
I know this is an old post, and there is not quite enough information, but for others finding this thread here are some things to think about. 1. The specs for Sibelius 7 call for a minimum of 4 gb of ram. The truth is if you want to run full Sibelius sounds, you need a minimum of 8gb. B. While you ...

Did you restart your Mac after the reinstall?
You might also run the Repair Permissions utility.
Are you having problems with any other software?
You might look at audio options to see if there is a latancey problem.

Re: Spacial Notation, Equal Measure Sizes
Just to add. One way would be to create your score ands add an extra instrument of any type. Fill that line with the smallest duration note you will write. 16ths are a safe bet. Write the piece. In Sibelius 7 (and 6, I think)there is a "Focus on Staves" button. CTRL+Select all the first measures of ...
