That's because there's really nothing to say, Beethoven! The 'wish list' for Sib 6 would have closed some time ago and, like I said, no-one will know for sure what's on it until it appears on the market. Yes, sometime in the summer is quite likely.

I'll wait. :D

Re: Sibelius 6

Beethoven wrote:As I read, Sibelius 6 not long in coming
Says who? Certainly not Sibelius, and nobody else knows. We might reasonably expect Sib 6 to appear some time this Summer, but speculation to what's new in it is just that, speculation.

Get something like Cute PDF (free download) and just print to a pdf file. It appears as a printer to Sib, and when you choose it it will prompt you for a location to save the pdf file.

Follow instructions re reading book/help/video tutorials etc.

Clue: Sibelius only gives you the page(s) you need. Create Bars in which to write your music and they will appear, complete with new page if required.

Now go and learn.

You don't sound stupid! However you do sound like someone who hasn't looked at the Reference book, the tutorials or the help screens. Do so now , and learn how to use the programme. You select a note by clicking on it. Clicking on a note and hitting Delete will remove it, leaving a rest in its place...

Sounds like you're using Voice 1 for the lower note and Voice 2 for the upper, then the two notes will be misaligned. Try swapping them.

Sib's voices work in pairs 1+2, and 3+4. Try not to mix them up, like 1+3.

PS your image one.tif doesn't display here. Stick to jpg and you should be OK.

1 - Read the Reference. It will save you a whole heap of time and trouble.

2) For this, you use two Voices (Read up on 'Working with Voices' in the Reference). Enter the upper quavers in voice 1, then switch to voice 2 and place the dotted crotchet at the same place as the first quaver.

House Style/Engraving Rules/Bar NUmbers - Select 'Every Bar'!

Easy as that. You'd have had the answer even quicker if you'd read the Reference or accessed the Help screens. If you're new to Sib, I suggest you give it a good read - it will really save you time in the long run!

All in the Reference! Here it is from 4.1.5, doubt if 5.2.5 is much different but it's on the other PC. Engraving Rules options The Clefs and Key Signatures page of the House Style > Engraving Rules dialog (shortcut Ctrl+Shift+E or Shift-Command-E) has the usual round-up of the arcane and the obscur...

Have you thought about using a standard piano score and just changing the bass clef for a treble clef? Like, press Q and select it? All clearly explained in the Reference! If you need this regularly enough you can create a new manuscript paper for it but it's literally two seconds to make the change...
