Re: Entering Chords w/o guitar Fret
Don't know why I'm having such a problem entering the symbol ∅ for a half-diminished chord. I have no problem with the Cmaj7 as C∆. I went to engraving rules and made the change for Cmaj7 and it works. Also, in engraving rules I clicked on the round button for the half-diminished and it's not workin...

Re: Entering Chords w/o guitar Fret
I thought there was a pull down menu that listed all the chords by name like Cmaj7 and beside it a symbol like C∆. This way you didn't have to type anything in just choose the chord name or symbol from the pull down. Is there such a list? Also, in a post above, andyg said when I select a note and pr...

Re: Entering Chords w/o guitar Fret
Andyg, Thanks for responding so quickly. Sorry I forgot to mention I'm using Sib.7 and I think I got it now from your answer. I'm mostly dealing with professional musicians who understand chord symbols and if they don't........well it's time they learned.LOL Going to the engraving rules helps a lot ...

Entering Chords w/o guitar Fret
How do I enter just the chord symbol without the guitar fret board? I keep getting the guitar fret board.
Also, how do I get the "symbol" for a particular chord rather than the full name. LIke C▵ instead of Cmaj7. Or C∅ instead of Cmi7b5.
Thanks

Re: No Sound from Sibelius
Problem solved. Sometimes the simplest solution solves the problem. I simply rebooted my computer and everything is working the way it should. No more popping sound. Also, I'm going back to Sib.7. I stopped using it because it was running slow, but on a previous thread, bobp suggested when running S...

No Sound from Sibelius
I have a Midi controller with no sounds in it. I want to use the sounds from Sibelius 6. I checked preferences and everything seems to be fine. When I play the keyboard I'm hearing the beep sound and the test window is moving. In Input devices it is showing my keyboard. In Midi setup again, the test...

Re: No Buit-in OutPut (CoreAudio)
I just tried "Repair Permissions" and it's still the same. I thought because Sib.7 was running slow it was an OS problem.
I'll just keep using Sib. 6 since I don't really need the audio part of it anyway and it runs normal.
Thanks for your help.

Re: No Buit-in OutPut (CoreAudio)
I'm sorry but I don't quite understand what you are saying. 1. What do you mean by "release audio device" 2. when Sibelius is in the "background box is checked"? 3. I'm not using Sib. 7 because it's running much to slow. I think it's a compatibility issue with the Mavericks OS I have in my Mac. That...

No Buit-in OutPut (CoreAudio)
I got the playback line to move but there still isn't any sound. In Sib.7 when I go to Audio Engine Option it says Built-In OutPut (CoreAudio) and I have sound on playback, but I don't have it in Sib. 6
Anyone know why and how to get it? That seems to be what's stopping Sib.6 from playing back.

Sib 6 won't play back.
I went back to Sib. 6 because Sib. 7 is moving to slow. I upgraded to Mavericks. Everything seems fine until I go to play my score. Sib. 6 is not playing back. I press the space bar, enter, return and the playback window play button and nothing happens. I can move the playback line in the playback w...

Lost Instrument Name?
This is a bit complicated. I accidentally dragged the 3rd. trumpet part (TPT) staff over the 2nd. trumpet part staff and didn't realize it. After working with it for a while I figured out how to fix that problem. I simply dragged the 3rd. trumpet part staff down to where it belongs. But now the abbr...

Re: Changing templates.
I didn't give you enough information about what I wanted to do. What I wanted to do was change a template before I wrote anything in it. I figured out to do this you have to go to Appearance>House Style>Import. This window will let you change the style.

Re: The meaning of this forum
Jean Sibelius was a pretty well know Finnish composer. Maybe that's where they got the name. His most well know piece is Finlandia.
