Re: nudging a crotchet rest to the left
If you mean 'cautionary' naturals, which occur in a bar after an 'accidental' sharp or flat of the note in question, you can change this (default) behaviour in Appearance > Engraving Rules > Accidentals and Dots. Under Cautionary Accidentals untick the first box (Show cautionary accidentals...etc). ...

Re: nudging a crotchet rest to the left
It is in the Sibelius 7 Reference manual, under 2.11 Inspector. On Page 191 it says * X tells you the horizontal displacement of the object from the position it’s attached to, in spaces. (For example, the end of a hairpin can be positioned slightly to the left or right of the note it’s attached to.)...

Re: Note spacing
Don't know which version you're using, but In Sibelius 7 you can change the space at the start of each bar by going to Appearance > Note Spacing Rule > Minimum Space > After start of bar > [Enter a number, e.g. 5] spaces > OK You can then apply the new spacing by selecting all and Reset Note Spacing...

Great! Good to know Sibelius may be keen to protect their own format/license, but not too worried about anything else

Re: Copying and pasting between versions
Could you try exporting as xml and importing back as xml? Or maybe even exporting as Sibelius First? If so (sorry, I don't know what options you have available) you'd lose some formatting but the basic music information should be intact.

1. Split the beam by selecting the fourth quaver (quarter note) and pressing the End beam icon from the keypad box. 2. Select the first quaver in each group, and choose Headless from Notations > Type 3. Select the minims (half notes), open the Inspector (Ctrl + Shift + I - in Windows), enter a negat...

Re: Simplyfy accidentals and crossover stems
I've not used this feature (plugin) and haven't had to beam across barlines but it seems that there was a problem with an older version of Simplify Accidentals that loses the user-defined beams. There was an update in 2008 that is meant to fix this issue. Perhaps the older version still gets shipped...

Re: Problem adding or inserting notes.
You're very welcome. I'm not even sure this is documented. A lot of the time these things just have to be learnt the hard way, by trial and error. Or by asking here of course!

Re: Problem adding or inserting notes.
You've started the whole note on the second beat of the bar, so a quarter note 'spills' into the next bar. You should have had the cursor into white space as leftmost as possible in the second bar. To correct this, Press Esc a couple of times to make sure you're out of note input mode, select the wh...

Re: Photoscore to Sibelis: Titles location wrong
Sorry, but I don't think there is a quick and easy fix for this. Photoscore doesn't seem to have any real way of differentiating movements/sections within a score so any Title/Subtitle/Composer etc text on any page will apply to the whole score (i.e. page 1) when transferred to Sibelius. There is a ...

Re: Need To Set Up Short, Separate Pieces Within A Score....
If you search in the Sibelius Reference guide for movements you'll get the steps needed for setting up several movements, songs or pieces. What exactly isn't it doing what you need?

Re: Empty staff (no clef, barlines, time signature etc.)
I don't have Sib 6 First, but In Sib 7 you can do this on your empty bar (add a line break before/after to spread it over the line), Select the bar, Create Clef Change, choose Blank clef, choose key signature with no sharps/flats. You can delete the bar rests on the empty bar, but there will also no...
