Re: whole Notes w/3 lines Tremelo?
You need to use the 2nd keypad layout. The tremolando is there, on the enter key. Put two minims into the bar. Click on the first snd add the 3-line tremolo, then click on/press the enter key on the keypad. If you have done it correctly, the minims will turn into semibreves, with the tremolando betw...

Re: Vibraphone will not make sound
Yes, but sibelius is not an orchestral percussionist. You can certainly write it on one staff, but to ensure playback is always correct, you should not have tuned and untuned percussion on the same staff.

Re: Vibraphone will not make sound
It's not a great idea to have a tuned instrument on the same staff as an untuned one. A better strategy is to keep them on separate staves and then use appropriate system breaks and hide empty staves to make it appear like one line. For the part - once you have completely finished adding notes - cre...

Try EastWest Opus. Their Hollywood sounds can be made to sound very realistic.

Are these text items the same colour? Is one purple and the other grey when selected?

Re: Convincing brass
If money is no object, there are excellent libraries available from steinberg, sounds online and others. Again, the caveats are that, unless there are soundsets available you are going to have to get into the bare guts of sibelius 's soundworld. I believe the latest version of NotePerformer has a fa...

Re: Convincing brass
Unless you are willing to pay hundreds (or thousands) of dollars, you aren't going to get realistic sounds. You certainly won't get them with Sib sounds - which hasn't been updated for at least 10 years. Noteperformer does good brass sounds, with little fussing and faffing about for a low price, NP ...

Re: How do I redirect the neck of notes?
Select the bars and press [shift]v. That should correct the incorrect voicing. It is hard for someone used to writing 4-part music not to use 1 and 2 for the treble voices and 3 and 4 for the bass. In sibelius, you only need voices 3 or 4 for extremely complex music which would probably be better wr...

Re: Anchoring Staff Text to Barline
AFAIK, there is no fixed method of attaching a text to a barline automatically. In any case, I think it would be wiser to lock the page format once you have everything in the place you want it and do not use reset position after it is fixed.

Re: Anchoring Staff Text to Barline
Make sure you can see the text object's attachment line. Also make certain you are working in the score, rather than a part. This should make locating the attachment point easier.
You could also change the horizontal placement value in the inspector to make the text line up better.

Re: writting notes without a staff
I suggest a better way might be to change the instrument to "no instrument (hidden)" by choosing change instrument and clicking to the left of the start of the first bar.

Re: Sibelius not saving parts
AFAIK, parts which may have been open when the score was saved are not automatically opened. Select any bar in the top part and press w. This should open the top part pressing [ctrl/cmd]# will cycle through all parts and back to the score.

Re: Score won't play back anymore...
Open the file, say no to the warning. Go into play-->playback devices-->audio engine options. Check if your normal playback device is listed. If not, this coukd be a device driver/sound card issue. Make sure your drivers are up-to-date according to the manufacturer's website. If this doesn't help, p...
