Re: Notation not exporting correctly

Make sure you have the latest version of Sibelius (7.1.3) and updated sounds.
Sometimes Sibelius gets confused when working with older versions of scores. Try deleting the problem slurs and re-entering them. Select the first note, hit "s" then stretch the slur as far as you need to.

Re: How to implement a sound alike Leonard Cohen songs?

Everyone's experience is different. I run Sibelius 7 on a budget laptop (with added ram). An addon system with an ASIO driver is out of the question. I tried Asio4all. It worked fine in Sibelius but was a total pain to use. As an example, if you transcribe from recordings, you know what I mean. I us...

Re: How to implement a sound alike Leonard Cohen songs?

I'm not sure that you can get .sf2 files to work in Sibelius. If you upgraded from Sib 6, you can use the sounds from that. Plus make sure you are using the 32 bit version. The sounds from 7 were never intended to run on a 2 gb, 32 bit system. The software will run. You can create notation just fine...

Re: How to implement a sound alike Leonard Cohen songs?

With your setup, try using Sibelius Sounds Lite. Do that from Play/Configuration.
I run Sib 7 with the computer in my sig. Works just fine. An ASIO sound card would be nice but not essential.

Re: Export Graphics from Versions

What do you mean, the file is never saved?

Also, remember Sibelius was never intenmded to make exersise books, so what you have to go through may seem less that intuitive.

Re: guitar slides

You might try a scoop from the jazz articulation keypad. It's not a line, but guitar players might read it as a slide. In general, I don't think slides work well in Sibelius.

Re: Remove an unwanted title/blank page from part - Sib 5

Your welcome. But I had to look it up. Then because I use Sib 7, I resurrected an old desktop that has 5 on it to make sure it was the same procedure. Pretty much is. There are some who don't like 7 because of the UI, but all the right-click functions are the same.

Re: Sounds Installer automatically to C:/

You should have the option to install the sounds to the drive of your choice. If you have already installed everything it might be easier to uninstall and start over.

Re: Remove an unwanted title/blank page from part - Sib 5

There should be a small icon that looks like a page in the upper left corner of the page after the title page. Select and delete it.
If that doesn't work there is a plugin .

Re: Shortcut to turn on/off Metronome/Click?

I have never used the metronome. But when you consider that most shortcuts are two or more key combos, how hard can it be to hit M then turn the metronome on or off. It beats getting out the old wind up Seth Thomas, propping one leg so that it beats evenly, dealing with the slide, and hoping you can...

Re: What's the best way to notate acoustic guitar for playba

Which version of Sibelius are you using? I usually notate guitar all on one staff. I think the nylon guitar is better than the steel string. Reverb should give you ring. If that is not enough, you can tie notes to make certain ones longer without adding extra voices. In Sibelius 7 you can alter the ...

Re: Key change at new staff affects staff bevor... turn off

I hate to quote the manual at you. But I had to look this up, and here is what I found. 1. If the key signature is different at the beginning of the second exercise, create a new one via More Options at the bottom of Notations > Common > Key Signature, making sure to switch on Hide; this will hide t...

Re: Splitting the stave after importin a MIDI file

Can't say that I ever import midi files into Sibelius. But to test for you I created a piano piece in musescore, exported as midi, and opened it in Sibelius7. It opened two staves but both were treble cleff and the wrong voices. Hmmm. When I saved as an xml, it opened just fine. A midi file created ...
