Re: is there an easier way to hide stave but show in part?

It all depends on how extensive the divisi part is and exactly what you are trying to achieve. In general, unless there is music on a staff, you don't need to hide anything before using Hide Empty Staves. If you want the occasional split part, it might be easier to do with ossias. If it's extensive,...

Re: Percussion Sound Problem

OK. FWIW, it is NEVER a great idea to use a 5-line and a 1 line staff like this for percussion. Percussion in Sibeliius is a law unto itself. If you carefully arrange to have instrument changes at the end of systems. you can use hide empty staves to avoid this issue. You just need a separate 1-line ...

Re: MIDI Input Issues in Sibelius First

I can practically guarantee that there will ALWAYS be latency. If, like me, you are a poor keyboard player, you will actually find it easier to use flexi-time than if you are a good player. As bobp says, it is usually quicker and easier to use step time or to just type it in by hand.

Re: Playback dictionary - multiple items

No. Because the CC texts have to be separate. You can't lump them together in the score, so you can't do it with a shortcut key either.

I suspect the way to do it might be through a Manuscript program ie a plugin.

Re: How to control rate of ritard/accelerando

Whether KJ Palmer's instructions will work or not depends on your version of Sibelius. I'm fairly certain that in one of the 7.x releases the rit/accel lines were broken. The result was that even though you made changes in the Inspector, they reverted to default settings.

Re: How to connect Midi kb with Sibelius mixer controllers?

You are trying to treat Sibelius as if it were a DAW and it just doesn't work like this. It has no automation and no external control of its faders except by dynamic markings in the score.

Re: Suddenly big white space!

The rectangle was possibly a hidden or deleted text object (ie one with no text in it) it was messing up the spacing until you deleted it. When you delete text or change your mind about typing and press [ESC] the text frame doesn't go away. It sits there hidden and causes problems. Use the "What is ...

Select a bar in the next system and press [reset space above]. (Layout Tab)
Hve you got auto breaks turned on? If so, turn them off. They are worse than useless. (and always have been)

What version of Windows are you running? I only had an issue like that with Windows 7. There is no such problem on my current Win 10 setup.

Re: Place time signatures manually inside the barline?

HI, I don't understand why you are dragging TSs about. Just press t, choose your poison from the dialog and then insert it into the bar. It will automatically go in the right place. In the case you describe, there's no need to use fake TSs. Use real ones. Unless there's something you aren't telling ...

Re: Transport randomly fast forwarding during playback

Hi, Some more info would be helpful. What is the Mac OS you are using? Did the file previously work ok and has recently started misbehaving? Is your mac connected to a midi keyboard? How did you create the file? Did you play it in? Type it in? Import a pdf/MIDI/MusicXML file? Can you post a copy of ...

No. In a word.
However, don't you have the original sibelius files? If so you could export the piano part to pdf and I believe there may be a plugin for that.

Re: Photoscore score display vanished

Had the pages been read or just scanned?
On the left of the screen you should see a list of scanned pages. The top list is of pages photoscore has stored unread. The bottom half is of scores PS has already read.
