Re: Orchestral playback to accompany choir

Actually, my examples above, again depending on the tempo, sound like a roll and not individual hits.

Re: Sibelius wont open.

Or have Windows search your computer for "AvidLicenseControl.exe. Run the exe and you will see if Sibelius is indeed activated. You activation key is there also. I think I recall once having to deactivate it then reactivate it before it worked. By the way. nothing wrong with W8.1. Also, Sibelius sho...

I'm not following what you are trying to do. Post a screenshot of a page from the score.

Re: Orchestral playback to accompany choir

Pro-Tools is a DAW. For real players you probably want to use the Buzz Roll sign from the keypad. For playback only, it depends on the tempo of the piece. Buzz roll doesn't always sound good. I use the tremolo slashes over the note. Different number of tremolos for different tempos. Here are two pos...

Re: Orchestral playback to accompany choir

Also, you you can use the chamber orchestra setting in Sibelius if you want the sound of a smaller group. It's very true that the best results will be with a DAW. But not all of us can justify the expense. Or the time it take to figure it out. You'd be surprised at what can be done with Sibelius if ...

Re: Help please, no sound

I suspect that once you have installed the actual sound files that you won't have any problems. Where did you get the instructions that you followed?

Re: Help please, no sound

I thought I heard that the updater was included in the newest full sounds download. In any event, it sounds like the full sound file was not downloaded by the OP.

Re: Help please, no sound

I hope you installed Sibelius and the sounds to their default locations. Some folks try to install the sounds to a different location or drive. Sometimes Sibelius finds them and sometimes not. Here's some things to check. You've probably already done most of them. These instructions are for V7.5, bu...

Re: Transpose guitar to sax? out of range notes?

Yes you can. But it depends on what format you have the guitar solo in. if it is an audio file, it's much harder. AudioScore might transcribe an audio file to notation, but I wouldn't count on it. Once the solo is in notation, add an appropriate sax staff. Copy and paste the guitar part into the sax...

Personally, I'd leave the d on the lower staff. The manual seems to suggest this.

Re: Sib 7.1.3 Frequent Freezes

Well, let's think about this. "Audio Engine Error; Bad Settings" probably means just that....bad settings. If you're going to trouble shoot, you need to go back to basics. First, make sure you have the latest drivers for your itrack. When that doesn't work disconnect the itrack and use the onboard a...

Re: Body taps

I'm not familiar with other libraries. But it might be worth looking through the manual and check out how to use the dictionary to define terms. Or assign sound IDs to note heads. There is probably a sound in Sibelius that is close to what you want. You just have to figure out where it is. For start...
