The more I think about this, the easier having two scores sounds! I think it would be less hassle in the long run, as I don't think Sib will easily let you do what you're after.

You mean there's someone else who does this? :D
Performance notes on my last piece went to a whole page!

. plus > would mean just that, an accented staccato note, of course. Clarity is the #1 rule in notation (OK, you need to get the notes right too, but you know what I mean! :D) for me, but there are always going to be times when certain symbols or combinations thereof have different meanings. C'est l...

That combination is ambiguous and can also be correctly used to indicate a stress (slight accent) and staccato on the same note. I'd tend to notate semi staccato differently, as staccato dots under a slur.

I've just had a play with this this, albeit in Sib 4.15 on this PC. The tempo changes you describe would be quite correct if you want the base tempo to remain constant when the time sig changes. Is that what you want? If so there should be no problem. If you want the tempo to change at each time sig...

PS From an finicky old teacher and stickler for decent English - the word you need is either 'proven' or 'proved' - just one 'o'.

Multiple lines in one staff [as opposed to Grand Staff?]. You should be using separate voices - read the Reference about this and all will be explained.

Fair comment, Zap, and I agree about it being the best way to deal with a one bar last line. I hate the look of them, though, so I try and avoid them like the plague! I had, like most of us, to learn about layout the hard way - and I did it with Finale at first! It's built in a lot of good habits al...

The obvious doesn't seem to have been stated. If you have one measure as the last line, you probably haven't thought about the layout properly! With a bit of thought, you should be able to balance the number of bars per system a little more evenly with a few appropriate system breaks.

If you're having problems with Graphics Export, you may be doing something wrong, as I've been using it with no problems at all. Graphics export (whole pages) is fine from V3 onwards and for extracts from v4, so what are the problems you're having? BTW, what do you mean by v2003, v2005 etc? Sounds m...

The only device that does this properly is the EAR.

No software can read an audio file off CD and notate it properly. If the melody is simple, monophonic and at a steady tempo, there's a chance it might get it right. Anything complex - forget it.

You're going to have to resort to some fakery to do this, using triplets, fake time signatures, beams, etc. First, view your two 3/4 bars as one bar of six triplet crotchets. That will make things line up with one 4/4 bar, then use a fake beam mid-bar to create the illusion of two bars. Hide the tim...
