What do you mean by 'separate out'?

You didn't have to delete them, hiding would have done.

What really matters is what tier of sibelius you are on. If you are on either Sinelius First or Sibelius you do not have all the functionality of the full program. You need the full Sibelius Ultimate.

If you have Sib ultimate, it is worth noting that you can only hide staves in FULL System widths.

Is this an educational establishment? AFAIR, the technicians at the school would have to install the license server on the school network. The best people to help you are Avid tech support. You should raise a case at Avid. I just tried to do this and got hopelessly lost in the ridiculously complicat...

Maybe you should report this on the officual Sibelius forum or on the FB pages? There are no Avid staffers on here any more. I don't compose to video so have no knowledge of its workings.

If you had a full version of Sibelius, why on earth did you downgrade?

Sib first does not have Hide empty staves. I didn't realise the OP had first!

The new default fonts require wider spacing. I wasn't suggesting you use the displayed value, but that you make it bigger!

1. If you can arrange for the entry to happen on a system/page break, use Hide empty staves
2. Otherwise use an instrument change to No instrument(hidden). Do it by selecting the bars you want to hide, not by clicking it before the 1st bar or you will have issues.

Select the note and press the appropriate key on the num-pad (to remove a sharp press #)
