Re: Number pad hardware? Expected behavior?
It's been a while since this question's come up! I have a non-branded Chinese one bought off Ebay years ago. Works just fine, but that's on Windows! My usual recommendation is to go with a full keyboard with number pad, but you don't want that! I'll leave it to others to chip in, but you could do a ...

Re: Reinstall 7.3 "Total device count exceeded" ???
You'll have to raise a case with Avid support to get them to reset your seat count, and then follow their instructions for activating Sibelius 7. You could email Ingrid at Avid, as she's always helpful. ingrid.guce@avid.com Explain what's happened and I'm sure she will be able to assist. I had to do...

Re: Sibelious to 2nd computer
Yes, you can install, activate and use Sibelius on the 2nd computer, but you'll have to deactivate the older installation first. In theory you can install as many times as you like, but only have two active installations. If you want to have three active installations you will have to buy a second l...

Re: Sib file convert, old to new
No conversion needed. You can just open the files in the new version. So just copy the files as they are to your new computer.
But your 'new' version of Sibelius 2020.9 may not work fully with that Mac O/S. If so, you'll need to update to the latest version.

Re: Can't open Sibeilus files from within program
Older versions of Sibelius like yours are not compatible with later Mac operating systems like 10.13 Ventura. You may get some functionality but expect problems. Reinstalling won't make a difference, you have to upgrade to the latest version of Sibelius. Windows 10 and 11 will happily run old versio...

Re: Yes I Will The Hollies vocal parts
There are only three of us left answering questions on this old unofficial forum. I've not notated it, and if I had done so for personal use, I shouldn't share it as it's copyright material. :( One person down, two people to go... If you could find an old piano/vocal score, the piano part might give...

Re: Adding a quarter note with half notes
And have a good read through 'Working with Voices' in the Reference Manual, which explains things more fully than we can here. I always input upper notes (Voice 1) first, maybe a line or a few bars at a time, then go back and input lower notes (Voice 2). For complex voicings you may need Voices 3 an...

Re: Moving a staff to the next page
And you can force a page break simply by selecting the barline at the end of the last system you want on a page, then holding Ctrl/Cmd and pressing the large Enter key. Do that as many times as required. However, the fact that Sibelius is not tidying things up when you've unlocked the format etc sug...

Re: Import Sounds
You can't create them. You can't 'import' them. But you can buy third party libraries that will give you better sounds than the Sibelius set. For orchestral sounds, there's Noteperformer, which has many fans in the Sibelius community. It is possible to get some other virtual instruments working with...

Re: Two Seb. Questions
Add bar at End does what it says it will - adds a bar to the end of the entire piece you're scoring. You should be able to add that one bar using Add Single Bar, but if that's not working, then refer to the replies about non compatibility. And if you do succeed in adding a single bar, don't be surpr...

Re: Two Seb. Questions
If you have an older version of Sibelius, it won't run on a later Mac O/S. The symptoms you describe are typical of this. And Apple also pushed an update for older O/S versions that permanently breaks the way Sibelius works with audio! If you google something like "Sibelius Mac compatibility" you sh...

Yes, it should be there! Are you actually running Ultimate? Quite a few people think they have Ultimate, as there's only one download, but have only activated First.
And never, ever rely on it. It's not infallible. Ctrl-S or Cmd-S, every time you make a major change, and often while you work.

Re: Double ky stave
Rather unconventional! At a guess, and I haven't time to test this: 1)Write it all in bass clef, not worrying about the lower notes being incorrect. Upper notes in Voice 1, lower notes in Voice 2 2)Make the Voice 2 notes cue sized (adjusting the percentage if required) 3)Use the treble clef symbol (...
