First, try trashing the 'Sibelius.rewire' file inside /Users/your username/Library/Application Support/Sibelius Software/Common.
If that doesn't help, next trash the 'PlogueEngine' folder inside /Users/your username/Library/Application Support/Sibelius Software/Sibelius 6.

On Mac, the General MIDI Module is located in /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components, and it's called General MIDI Module.component. If you don't want it to appear in Garageband, Logic, Finale etc., then simply remove it from that folder. All that means is that you can't use the 'General MIDI (enhanced)...

PhotoScore integrates directly with Sibelius, whereas SmartScore does not. You may also be interested in trying out SharpEye (www.visiv.co.uk), which exports MusicXML files that Sibelius can import.
