Re: Instrument change for B part
I'm not exactly sure what you arying to achieve, but if you want to hide empty staves ([ctrl][shift][alt]h, it is best if you make line breaks at places where the instrumentation changes.

Re: How can I get Sibelius to display multiple voices cleanl
OK. Unless the parts are all playing semibreves throughout, you need to be aware of the way Sibelius will treat stemmed notes. Voices 1 and 3 will tend to be 'stems up' and voices 2 and 4 will tend to be 'stems down'. This can make the music less readable unless you intend to colour the notes. I wou...

Re: How can I get Sibelius to display multiple voices cleanl
The reason I say tjhat is because you are in danger of making a rod for your own back! Is this an instrumental piece or for actual voices? The reason I ask is that this will affect the way you approach the task. If this is a piece of complex polyphony where the four lines need to be kept clear and s...

Re: How can I get Sibelius to display multiple voices cleanl
In my (admittedly limited) experience, it is usual to put the sop and alto on one staff and the tenor and bass on a separate staff with bass clef.
It's unusual to write all foour parts on the same staff.

Re: How can I get Sibelius to display multiple voices cleanl
Put the two middle notes both in voice 2.
Is there some reason why you need to have voices 123&4 assigned in this way? Sibelius' voices are paored in terms of their stem direction defaults 1&3, 2&4. A simple chord like this doesn't need to be in all four voices.

Re: no playback, no sound
If the mixer faders are showing activity, then sibelius is sending audio data. It is most likely going awry in Windows. Usual suspects: Wrong device selected under playback->Audio Engine options Wrong device selected in Windows device manager Outdated device drivers. Don't trust windows to tell you....

Re: title won't display in some parts but does in others
When this happens it's usually because the title text is not attached to the very first bar and the parts in question have multirests at the start. IN THE SCORE, Use [ctrl/cmd]x to cut the title and then select the very first bar, even if it is a pickup bar and paste ([Ctrl/cmd]v it there. If there ...

Re: Unexpected Tempo Changes
Hi Nick, I found a number of hidden messages, CC MIDI messages and so on. There was another hidden metronome mark at the start setting <q> = 100 even in the latest version. I think your keyboard may be adding MIDI messages to the data stream that are affecting the result. Also, I notice you had the ...

Just be aware that doing so does NOT transpose diatonically. While it worked in this case, it may not work in other situations!

Re: Printed music runs off page
OK. It's my bad advice again. Just select the offending bar in any staff (blue box) you should now see 'gap before'. If this is not zero then set it to zero. The bar you want is the one AFTER the line break. If that doesn't work you could try making the paper size bigger temporarily You know which b...

Re: Printed music runs off page
Sorry, it should have said [ctrl][shift]n My bad To create a line break select a barline and press the return key (the big one on the main keyboard). The reason you do this is to bring the off-page bars back onto the page. It may or may not work, depending how far you have been dragging bars. As an ...
