Re: Capotasto (Capo)
There doesn't seem to be a specific symbol for capo(tasto) in Sibelius. Best I can think of is if the notation for cello is anything like that for guitar (forgive my ignorance), you could fake it with a dashed line and/or text. Something like this: Capo I.png or this: Capo II.png Select the dashed l...

Re: Changing shortcuts to "creating slashed grace notes"
Great, yes it's not exactly an obvious word - or an easy one to pronounce!

Re: Changing shortcuts to "creating slashed grace notes"
If it's an acciacciatura you want this is under the Keypad (more notes) Tab or Category of Keyboard shortcuts. To change the defined shortcut / you need to Add and create a new shortcut set based on the standard set (which can't be edited). You should then be able to change the shortcut to whatever ...

Re: Midi files not displaying chord names-Yamaha
In any case, chord symbols aren't part of the MIDI standard, and Sib 6.2 won't export them to a MIDI file. If the Yamaha has a way of interpreting chord names from a guitar or keyboard part it may worth using the Sibelius plugin 'Realize chord symbols' to create such an instrument and re-export to M...

Re: Loading newly created instruments into old scores ..
You can 'save' new (or edited) instruments for general use by exporting a House Style or saving as a Manuscript paper. You'd then Import the House Style into existing score, or use the Manuscript Paper when setting up new scores. This is from the Sibelius 7.5 Reference guide: 2.6 Edit Instruments 2....

Re: Having trouble with Version 7.5.1 Update
There seems to be a strange 'silent install' procedure for upgrading to 7.5.1 from 7.5.0. I found this when logged onto my Avid account. The link is here: https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/How_To/Sibelius-7-5-1-Silent-Install-Procedure Not sure if this is how I did it originally, or w...

Re: staff spacing
The "justify page when..." setting bit is in Appearance > Engraving rules > Justify staves when page is at least xx% full. You should then find you have more room at the bottom of the page to move things around a bit. To move system staffs up/down I find it quickest to select any bar in the lower sy...

Re: Issues Exporting Audio
Totally agreed. There are some known issues with certain Mac OS's and Sibelius versions, neither of which I have, nor the behaviour you describe. If you can't get an answer here, you're best advised to head over to the official Avid forum / helpdesk, where you have more options.

Re: Issues Exporting Audio
Have you tried just sliding the volume levels on the unwanted instruments to 0 in the mixer before exporting audio? That's what I nornally do when wanting to isolate parts rather than using the mute or solo buttons. If the resulting volume level is too low, you can 'normalise' them with something li...

Re: Lyrics & Ties
I think you'd hit space to skip to the next note if it's the end of the word, or hyphen space to continue with the next syllable if not.
Admittedly I'm no great expert on lyrics, so if you can check the reference manual under Lyrics for your options.

Re: Cant get Sibelius to work.
Sorry, I don't have any insights on this, but may have run into similar problems with Sibelius 5, the first version I owned. I must have given up on Sib 5 at some point, but I do still occasionally run Sibelius 6.2 on my Windows 10 and 11 machines, and it seems very stable on both platforms. In fact...

Looks like you hit 'Panorama mode' by mistake - easily done, it's Shift P. Just press Shift P again, or toggle back to full screen mode in the View menu by pressing Panorama.

Re: Keyboard fingering with grace notes
It's unlikely that anyone from Sibelius or Avid will read this, so probably best to address these issues to the official Sibelius forum / help center: https://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/chat/chat.pl?com=show&groupid=3 It may or may not get prioritised, but worth a shot. Unless someone else ...

Re: Stemless Note With Note Name
You could add the note names and then 'remove' the stems by dragging them down in the note body. Tails and beams can be hidden, and the stem dragged. They'll show on the screen but won't print. Sorry, all a bit manual and tedious, and I can't find any plug-ins or engraving rules that would help out.

Re: Chord Diagrams
I don't think so. There's a limited amount of tweaking you can do to chord diagrams through the Edit Chord Symbols dialogue and Engraving Rules, but nothing like this seems to be supported. You may be able to insert your own images in the relevant places, but this is likely to get messy. This may ha...
