The manual says to change the x - factor in the properties window. Ok, this works, but what if the previous bar is one staff higher? Is there a way to do it?

appogiatura (grace notes) on end of previous bar
I've never seen an appogiatura in the bar before the note it "belongs" to, but I guess you could add the appogiatura to the last note in the bar before and then change the x-factor so until it is at the very right end of the system. Playback would be off though.
