I have a repeatable symptom which could be from any number of causes. I'm stumped.
I have some (above average) Sennheiser Bluetooth wireless headphones. Running Sibelius ultimate on a Windows 11 machine.
I'm using Sibelius. All is well. I leave everything up, loaded, etc and walk away for a few minutes. I lay the phones on the desk. The phones "time out" after a couple minutes and go into hibernate mode or something. When I come back, I put them on and in a few seconds, they say "connected." But Sibelius will not recognize them. I can do everything with Sibelius (add notes, play, etc.) but there's no sound. I tried several things, but the only solution I can find is to completely shut down Sibelius (not just close that score) and re-launch... everything is fine.
This could easily be a phones hiccup, or a windows hiccup. But If I do the same experiment with Youtube or a show, the sound comes back on when it says "connected". So I'm suspecting Sibelius is losing the connection. It has done a similar thing when I turn off (or have another app) use the midi keyboard. It says no input device. But I know where/how to reestablish that in the Note input menu.
Is there a similar place to reestablish a sound connection?
Thanks for any help.
Sibelius (or Bluetooth or Windows) dropping the ball?
Sibelius has had this kind of issue virtually since the invention of bluetooth. It will simply not reconnect once the bluetooth device disconnects. A restart of the program is the only way.
I've never had a satisfactory relationship with it in over 30 years. There's always a lag. I just content myself with a wired connection.
