Too Small Mixer and mm instead of inches

Hi - Two problems (nothing earth shattering): 1st Problem: No matter what I do, the Title, Composer, Instrument Names all are shown in mm and not inches. I've gone to the Preferences, switched that part of the "ruler" on and off several times, made sure I had check "inches" and not "mm", but it still reads mm. Perhaps this is the programers way of having us convert to the metric system?

2nd Problem: I can't see the dials on the mixer that change the various parameters of the instruments. They're just too small. I've tried enlarging them. I tried to see them in the "visual guide" but to no avail. And, since different instruments require different adjustments, it's impossible to know which dial does what without a longish process of trial and error. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...
