Hi Friends,

I'm new to Sibelius, due to Finale being discontinued.

Does anyone know how to create a dotted whole note rest in 6/4 time?
I tried clicking on the Note Input Tab.
Displayed the Note Keypad, clicked on the whole rest, but I don't see an option to make the rest dotted.

This should be easy. Can someone please help me?

You dot a rest same way you dot a note. Select the note, press 'rhythm dot' on Keypad 1.

But why do you want a dotted whole note rest in a bar of 6/4? That's a full bar. Correct notation is a Whole Bar rest. Looks like a whole note rest but centred in the bar. You'll get one by simply deleting everything in that bar. Or you can add one from Keypad 2.

Hi Laura.

Thanks for your response. Part of my score is in 6/4. Other parts have different time signatures. In each measure with rests, I like the beats to add to the time signature for that measure.
