How do I create a gap of white space in barlines so that text written there is easier viewed?
Thank you.

Creating a gap of white space in barlines
You can't actually put a gap in the barline itself. What you have to do is either edit existing text styles, or create new text styles, and set them to "Erase Background". For example, go to House Styles, Edit Text Styles and click on Expression > New to make a new style based on Expression. You might call it "Expression Rubout".Anonymous wrote:How do I create a gap of white space in barlines so that text written there is easier viewed?
Click the Border tab and tick "Erase Background". I have very small values (2) for left and right, 0 for above and 2 or 4 for below.
"Erase Background" doesn't erase every kind of background, but it will write over barlines to give you the gap you need.
