Swapping parts

Sibelius beginners can discuss all things Sibelius here ("how do I...?").

Is there a very simple way to make the soprano part the alto, and the alto the soprano in a 4 part choral score? I just want the parts switched, and it seems it should be really easy. Please help, and many thanks!

If the Soprano and Alto are on the same staff, select the staff and use Shift V to swap their voices.

If they are on separate staves, there is a plug-in called Exchange Staff Contents in the Other section of the Sibelius plug-in downloads page
http://www.sibelius.com/download/plugin ... ategory=10
It's about 15th from the top. Unfortunately it works only for Sibelius 5.

The alternative is this:

1. Select the Soprano staff
2. Ctrl-X to cut (to clipboard)
3. Select Alto staff
4. ALT-Click (or middle-button click, but not Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V) at beginning of Soprano stave to copy the Alto part there.
(4a. Select Alto staff and Delete at this point if it makes you feel more comfortable)
5. Select beginning of Alto stave and Ctrl-V to paste the Soprano part there.

Easier to do than to describe.

Exchange staff contents works in all versions of Sib since 5. I use it asll the time in Sib 6, 7.5 and 8.6. I've assigned it to a keyboard shortcut [ctrl][shift][alt]e.
Sib 6.2, 7.5 and 2023.6, Windows 11, 32GB RAM, 16TB 7200RPM Storage, 2TB SSD, Note Performer 3.3.2, EWQLSO, EWQLSC, Harmony Assistant and some others. mike@mike-lyons.co.uk
