Cutting to SATB reduced

hi!
How does cutting and pasting to SATB choir in a Choir Reduced staff system (two staffs only) work ? Is it possible to paste to just e.g. the tenor without affecting the base in the same staff?
I have bought the music score to the song which has the melody and piano arrangement and I am thinking of copying here and there when doing the arrangement to save some clickings.
