I am wondering how to make the notes on a classical guitar composition resonate freely. Here is an example, suppose I write an arpeggiated am9 chord voiced A-G-C-B-E-B-C-G played on the first five strings all eighth
1 2 3 4
notes. These notes although written as eighths would be allowed to ring as long as possible when played. For example the -A- would ring for the entire four beats as no other note above is played on the 5th string.

When I write figures like the one above on sibelius I find that it plays back a literal interpretation, each note lasting exactly half a beat rather than playing it as a guitarist would if presented with the same music.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Funk
