notating with multiple voices

I've noticed that when I notate with voices 1 and 3 on the same beat they will line up vertically perfect, but if I do the same thing with voices 1 and 2 voice 2 is not lined up with voice one. I was wondering what the purpose of this is, and if it is possible to change it, so regardless of what voice I'm using they will all line up. I hope that made sense.

Sounds like you're using the Voices upside down.

Voice 1 is for higher notes and Voice 2 for lower notes. Get this the wrong way around and you get the misalignment you're seeing.
