Sibelius beginners can discuss all things Sibelius here ("how do I...?").

Hi folks,

in my scores brackets are not printed to pdf well (on paper they are OK). I have a lot of pp's and ff's between brackets to indicate that they are not original but that I added them from another source:

[pp]
[ff]

What I do is just create a normal pp from the keyboard (ctrl + e and then ctrl + pp), then use the export to pdf function of Sibelius 7.

What to do? Thanks!

Works fine in my set up. Are you using a non-standard font? What are you reading PDFs with?

Thanks.

I'm using the standard Sibelius font.

Reading them with two different programs. Really strange, I trioed all sorts of solutions.

If I 'print' the score with say NitroPDF there's no problem. It's Sibelius' problem.

What was the other program?
I read the PDF I created with Acrobat. I also created a PDF with Cute PDF Writer instead of the built in PDF creator. It read fine in Acrobat, also.

As an aside, not all PDF creators are equal. There are times when PhotoScore won't open a PDF. On those occasions I recreate the file with CutePDF, and then it opens correctly.

Foxit Reader.

BTW: any idea why all my parts open in panorama view, and how to prevent that?
