Photoscore in Sibelius
Hello, new problem. Importing a scan made with Photoscore in Sibelius I noticed that it doesn't keep track of the instruments. The first page on the right, in the second system there should be: violin I, violin II, viola and Viol. and Contrabb., as from the original score.
Instead, it does what you see.
How to do it?
Thanks
Paolet

You have to make sure that PhotoScore has allocated the right staves to instruments BEFORE you send it to Sibelius. You can rename staves as necessary, but you need to be careful to check that they are properly allocated.
Trying to do it afterwards will open up a world of pain!

I tried to change "flute" to "violin I", 2nd system, but it doesn't allow you.
This is really a big problem!
Attach original.

Yes it does.
When you click/rt-click (can't remember off-hand) on the instrument names you get the option to choose the staff name (it defaults to 'Staff 1, Staff 2 etc).
At the same time, you can also rename each staff. Once you have done this you can then go through and check that each staff is allocated to the correct instrument name.

Nothing to do. I tried it and it doesn't work. The second system to the first stave, always reports FLAUSE. The program keeps the staves in sequential order, and it doesn't matter what tool is there. What's crazy is that the scan reports wrong what it captures. Clicking in the left area shows you the correct scan. I do not understand. It's the same scan! 2.jpg

I'm not sure I understand what is going wrong.
PS will create as many staves as it thinks it finds in the whole score. It's up to you to make sure all the staves are allocated. I do this all the time, so I know what needs to be done.
If you send me the opt file or the original pdf, I can investigate for you and find out what is happening. It's very difficult to do without sight of teh original.
