I understand how to append files, I am merging several files into one (Mass parts into one Mass "book") but, I do not have the append button under file in Sibelius First.

Is it possible to append files in this version?

The best you can do is copy/pastefrom one score into the end of the other. If you make a system selection it will place the music after the last bar of the previous score. Other than that, get the full version - Sibelius ULTIMATE. You can't expect a free or cut-down program to have all the features of the paid version.
