Getting good orchestral sounds with Sibelius 5 on Windows 10

Sibelius beginners can discuss all things Sibelius here ("how do I...?").

I have Sibelius 5 and have installed it on a Windows 10 computer. The program runs fine but I cannot load the Essential Sounds add-on. Sibelius has informed me that Essential Sounds will not install and work on my Windows 10 computer.

Is there any aftermarket product I can use with Sibelius 5 on a Windows 10 computer? Is there another work-around?

I plan to take Sibelius to the grave with me so upgrading is not an option.

Help???????

Google is your friend. There are several work arounds. But in general make sure you have one of your licences free. It might be easier to download the latest version of Sib. 5 (5.2 something) from Avid. It is supposed to have the updates in it. You may have to deal with compatibility mode, and update the Kontakt player. V5 is no longer supported on newer computers so you won't get any help from Avid. But I understand people have been able to get it to work. I'm on V7.5. Someday it will no longer work on some future version of Windows. Such is the way of technology. A curse and a blessing.
