I just started using Sibelius today, and just now noticed this vertical green line. I can't select it, and I have no idea what button I pushed, or how to get rid of it.
What the heck is this?
That's called the Playback Line and is always there by default. This is from the manual:
Playback line: the green vertical line that shows where in the score Sibelius is playing back or will play back.
You can turn it off (at least in Sibelius 7.5) by unticking Playback Line under View > Invisibles.

Sibelius 6.2, 7.5.1, Windows 11
It will normally sit (perhaps un-noticed)at the start of the first system in the score - until you click Play on the Transport Keypad or (more likely) accidentally press the Space Bar. The Transport Bar will let you reset it back to the start.
Just out of curiosity, what did you think it might be?
Sib 6.2, 7.5 and 2024.3.1, Windows 11, 32GB RAM, 16TB 7200RPM Storage, 2TB SSD, Note Performer 4, EWQLSO, EWQLSC, Harmony Assistant and some others. mike@mike-lyons.co.uk
I knew it wasn't music notation, but other than a weird artifact, I had no idea. I've used Harmony/Melody Assistant a lot (years ago), and more recently Notion, and never saw a hanging line like that. I did bump the spacebar and start playback at one point yesterday, but wasn't trying to, and so I didn't notice the moving green line. Yesterday was literally my first day using Sibelius, and it's doing exactly what I need (which is to create lead sheets), but I'm still navigating the menu/tab system.
Thanks for the quick responses!
