Adding an optional way of playing a measure, like a footnote

Sibelius beginners can discuss all things Sibelius here ("how do I...?").

Hello, and thank you for any help you can give me. I would like to add a measure or two showing an alternate way to play a section. I've seen this in harp music many times: it appeared above the system, or at the bottom of the page. Usually the alternative measures are smaller than the normal system. Can this be done in Sibelius and if so how? If the extra measures are to be added above the system, how does one make more space between systems to insert it? Thanks!!

The type where it's above or below the actual bar is called an ossia. If you are using the full version of Sibelius ossias are available on the Home tab of the ribbon.

Footnotes are a little more involved. See the attached link to the official Sibelius forum. https://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpce ... /search.pl

Oh, of course! Thanks so much. It's just what I need. It's too bad my manual doesn't have an entry in the index under "T" that says "That thingy where the little measure is between the staves, see page 180." Much obliged!
