Sibelius automatically changes lyric "go" to GDim. How do I make it stop?

So I have been using Sibelius for over 15 years, but I'm as stumped as a noob right now: I type the word "go" in lyrics mode (ctrl-L), but Sibelius changes it to GDim (the superscript o is what is seen after G until you click on it again) after I press the space bar. I've never had this problem before. Any help would be hugely appreciated. I can figure out a work-around, but I just need to know why, what's causing this craziness. Thanks in advance.

So what version of Sib and what is your OS? If you are on anything earlier than Sib 2020.6 and Big Sur then your text input will throw up all sorts of stupid. This is not Sib's fault, this is entirely down to Apple [spit]!

Windows 10, Sibelius 8.4. Never had this problem before and I've been using Sibelius since v.4.

Check to see if the font used for Lyrics hasn't inadvertently been changed to one of the Opus Chords fonts. Just a quick idea of the top of my head.

Can you email me a file that does this?

I can. But I'm going to check what another poster suggested and check the font first. But first I have to get home from work. 😊

So I checked the font and it's Plantin MT Std. At least I know that's not the problem. Thanks for the suggestion.

Well, my workaround was to use ctrl-spacebar and that made it look normal. Now, when I try to just enter it as before, it is working correctly. Very interesting. Now I just entered a second line of lyrics using the same identical lyrics and it's working fine as ever. So very interesting. Hmmm... Now I want to know why it's working right. LOL. So very weird.

Thanks for your interest in helping.
