Shifting selection forward one beat

Sibelius beginners can discuss all things Sibelius here ("how do I...?").

Hi all, brand new to Sibelius, so apologies if the solution is obvious (I've hunted around google and this forum without success).

I imported a midi file from another notation program. It's just a simple single staff part for solo violin.

Most of the score imported fine, but about a third of the way through for some reason a beat was dropped, so now the notes in the measures after are all shifted to the left so that the second note of the original correct measure is the now the first note of the measure.

So if the original was, say:

| a b c d | e f f g | a b b c |

After the import it looks like:

| a b c de | f f g a | b b c ...

I'm able to get the first measure fixed back to the original, but the second measure is still shifted left. Is there a way to get the remaining measures all shifted back to the right?

The simplest way (probably) is to cut and paste the remaining notes, word processor style.

Select the first note you want move with the mouse, hold Shift and click on the last note to select all remaining notes (they should all turn blue), Ctrl X to copy and remove them to the clipboard, then paste (Ctrl V) them onto a rest of the following bar. If it's a whole bar rest you may need to change it to smaller rests to ensure the correct beat is pasted onto - use the note values on the keypad for this. Also, firstly be sure that the all the notes you've copied have the correct note lengths, or you may end with with some more strange bars.

Depending which version of Sibelius you are using, you can also use [shift][alt/opt][left/right arrow] to move stuff around horizontally.
