Playback pitch different from notation

Sibelius beginners can discuss all things Sibelius here ("how do I...?").

UPDATE EDIT: Solved! Sampling rate in my notation programs was set to 44.1 while all of my sound devices are 48kHz. Changed Sibelius to 48 and all was back to normal.

Hi all

I have something of a weird mystery (to me, at least). I imported a score from my old notation program Crescendo into Sibelius. To my surprise, on playback everything sounded a whole step below what's written. I though at first maybe Sibelius thought it was some type of transposing instrument. So I started a new score, just in C, default sound. Same thing. Everything I enter sounds a whole step flat.

But then I went back to Crescendo and same thing! Now everything plays a whole step flat, even a new score

What on earth could possibly be the explanation?

Just so you don't go off on a tangent:

Sibelius does not usually play happily at 48k. All your audio devices will probably give you the option of 44.1k or 48k. I know mine do and Sibelius seems much happier at the lower sampling rate.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. Can you tell me what you mean by "play happily?" I'm really loathe to work at 44.1. My entire rig/workflow is set to 48.

Well... random crashes, odd refusals to play instruments individually or collectively, timing issues, horrible grinding noises instead of instrument sounds and other random annoyances.
