How to make several short staves in 1 line?

Select a barline, then:

There is always more than one way to do this. I would use Gap Before Bar to separate the bars out. Select the second bar (remember it's gap BEFORE) and set a gap that looks right, then select the third bar and do the same. Unless your page size is bigger than normal (A4) or your staff size is smaller than normal, I wouldn't try to put more than 4 on a line.

@KJ_Palmer
Thanks, it works. The next bar becomes distance. How to change this distance?

As Mike says, there are various ways to do things like this.

You can select a bar line and drag it left or right. Bar lines are hidden before the clef sign, but it's still there and selectable.

Or for more precision use the Inspector (Ctrl Shift I) on a bar line, look for Gap before bar at the bottom and change the value to 3 or 4 or whatever you like.

Thanks.
How to make a break to the next line without stretching the previous bars? So that staff should be shorter.

Select the handle (slightly to the right of the last barline on the line and drag to the left. You can do the same with the left barline to make it more balanced.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean between two consecutive chords? Select them (or the bar they are in) and use [alt/opt][shift][right-arrow]. This will obviously affect the overall spacing on the line.

You could also drag them apart, but that gets very messy!

Thanks. Seems that this way requires to click every note head of the needed chords to select them. Is there a faster way to select chords for this?
You could also drag them apart
How? They aren't draggable for me.

I selected the whole bar and used [shift][alt][right-arrow].

You can drag individual chords easily. There may be a bit of 'resistance' as there is a minimum distance to drag which is an attempt to avoid accidental dragging.

1) Can I select all note heads in a chord by one click?
2) Is there the rectangle selection: as it works for items in Windows desktop?

3) I can drag a chord only up and down. How to drag horizontally?

1. Double click one of the notes
2. Press [shift] while dragging
3. You need to be clear - dragging a chord horizontally can mean 2 different things: 1. Widen the distance between the two (or more chords) or 2. Move a chord rhythmically further in the bar. Which do you want?

1) 2) Thank you, the rectangle selection is extremely useful.
What to press to change this timeslot selection to only note head selection?

3) I need 1., but 2. will be useful to know too.

To drag a chord, just drag any note in the chord in the direction you want it to go.
If you want to move notes further into the bar, select the notes you want to move and press [ctrl/cmd][alt/opt][right-arrow] obviously, notes/rests outside the selection will be moved to the left to accommodate the new position.
