Sibelius beginners can discuss all things Sibelius here ("how do I...?").

Hi there,

I have been using Sibelius First for almost 2 years.

Today when I was only able to open Sibelius First in REVIEW Mode.
It said I must Register.

I am already registered with AVID LINK.

Is there anyone who can tell me how to fix the problem?

Kind Regards

This has been happening a few times. You could do a bit of a search to see if there was a solution, or perhaps ask on the official Sibelius chat pages rather than this unofficial forum.

However, the best advice is probably to ditch Sibelius First and use Musescore 3 instead. It's free, more powerful, close enough in terms of keystrokes to offer an easy transition and, best of all, no messing about with Avid link. And there's Musescore 4 on the horizon. If you can export your scores to xml, Musecore will read them.

MuseScore 3 is an excellent solution, as Andy says. It's also free but it much more fully featured than Sib First. Give it a go. If you have to, use Musicxml to transfer files back and forth (incidentally, MS3 has better handling of Musicxml files than Sib).
Sib 6.2, 7.5 and 2023.6, Windows 11, 32GB RAM, 16TB 7200RPM Storage, 2TB SSD, Note Performer 3.3.2, EWQLSO, EWQLSC, Harmony Assistant and some others. mike@mike-lyons.co.uk
