I have Bach's Air on G String for piano. I tried the Add Chords Symbol Plug-In but nothing happens. I thought that this plug-in will automatically make a chord symbol by reading the harmony.

Am I doing something wrong?

I need to know a few things. is this Mac or PC? What version of the OS? What EXACT version of Sibelius (from Help-->About)?

Guesswork would say that you haven't selected the notes/chords before running the plugin. Also, by default, the plugin won't put chords where there are less than 3 different notes in the selection. You can change this in the dialog but, if there are not full triads, you'll get quite a lot of wild guesses.

Thank you for your reply.

My PC runs Windows 11, 64-bit. The version is Avid Sibelius Ultimate 2019.5.0. See the below picture.

If you have an active subscription or update plan, it might be worth goiong for the 2021.12 update. There have been a couple of fixes that might be useful.

Sorry, your image loaded very slowly!

If you have only 1 note in each hand (as your image shows) it's not really going to work. You'd be better off doing it yourself.

Maybe use the attached as a starting point...?

I have a subscription. The plug-in does not work. I think I have to take it with Avid.

Very disappointing. :(

The plugin DOES work. I use it all the time. However, it was designed to work with full chords, not diads. Because there are only two notes you will end up with a load of power chords! If you want to see the result un-tick this box in the dialog. (image)
