Sibelius Ignoring Sharp/Flat/Natural

Sibelius beginners can discuss all things Sibelius here ("how do I...?").

I must have accidentally edited a setting. Sibelius is ignoring my sharp/flat/natural note input and defaulting to whatever the key is in.

Let's say I'm in F major which has a Bb. I note input a G. I select "natural" and then note input a third above. Instead of inputting a B♮, it just inputs a B. And if I select "#" in the same example, it'll get input as B♮

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Mac or Windows? If Mac, which O/S. Your Sibelius version may not work correctly with later Mac versions.

I just upgraded to a new Macbook Pro M1 Max. Previously I was on a 2018 Macbook Pro, and I didn't get this weird problem

That's probably the problem, then. You're presumably on the latest combo of O/S (10.15 ?)and CPU which older versions of Sibelius won't play nicely with.

I think you'll have to upgrade to the latest version of Sibelius Ultimate.

Yep, Andy is right. 2019.x will NOT work correctly or consistently with an M1 Mac or on any OS later than 10.15. Anyone who manages to get them to work together is extremely lucky. The issues are usually to do with text items and loss of input functionality, but the collection of complaints I see points to completely random effects.

It would appear that you are, in which case, report this on the official Avid Sibelius forum. There are Avid staffers there who might be able to help.
