Chords with tied notes/different durations.

I remember figuring this out before, but now I’ve forgotten. How do you input to achieve the attached engravement, with chordal notes of varying duration?

Seems onerous to create different voices, but is that the solution?

I'm sorry you think it's onerous to press [alt]2 while inputting your notes. However, most musicians manage to do so with minimal interruption to their workflow.
Read the manual about using voices for further information.

Onerous? How else would you expect to do it - and all notation apps work pretty much the same in this respect. There are two separate parts (voices) there so they must be input separately.
