Hi, I did ask this in the wish list but just want to be sure it's not actually included in Sib7.

It will be absolutely great if a certain key can be pressed and the music plays (chord by chord) as the mouse is moved throught the score.

So often I wish to audition the harmonies in my score so by keeping my mouse over a beat in the bar, Sibelius must sustain that chord until I move the mouse to the next one. In Finale one presses Ctrl + Space and hover over the score to audition the harmonies (the whole line) Or, pressing Shift + Ctrl + Space only the current staff auditions on which the mouse hovers. This is VERY useful.

Is this available in Sib7?

No.

General concensus has been that, though useful and occasionally requested, this function is more appropriate to a DAW than a notation package. I don't think it's high on Sibelius's list of priorities. However, given the blurring of the two genres of app, it may happen one day.

I have a feeling that there's a plug-in that goes some way to doing what you want, but as I don't need it, I've never really looked.

Worth a search both here and the official Sibelius forum.

Hi andyg, this feature is actually VERY helpful in finding wrong notes in an orchestral score. By using those two methods with the mouse makes it very easy to audition instruments staves in the efford to find the offending note.

It happens many times that notes don't spell correctly or because of hidden accedentals and wrong entry.

This feature will actually be very helpful.
