Help: Importing MusicXML files from Guitar Pro 5

Postby knelland » Wed May 10, 2006 5:44 am

G'day, trying to import a MusicXML file that was created by Guitar Pro 5, and it gives me an error message that goes like so:

"Fatal error: "An exception occurred! Type:RuntimeException, Message:Could not open DTD file 'file:///musicxml/partwise.dtd'" at line 2 column 2. Sibelius cannot load this file.

I think that it may be that the DTD files for MusicXML have gone missing. I have downloaded them from here:

http://www.recordare.com/xml.html

But I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with them. Please help :) [/url]

If you've got Sibelius 4, then you don't need to download the MusicXML DTDs; they're installed automatically. It sounds like you need to reinstall Sibelius 4.
