I have to transcribe a piece I wrote by tomorrow. So, I'm staying up all night (I don't know why I waited till the last minute). Anyways, I need to write a note that's the length of one third of a triplet.
I have three quarter notes, then a note that needs to be the length of only the first third of a triplet. Does that make sense? What time signature would I use for that measure? And how would I write it? Can anyone help?
I need help fast! How do I make a one note triplet?!
You could give that measure the time signature 10/8 and write the three
quarter notes as a dotted quarter (each), and the last note as a single eighth.

In Sibelius you can slide the dots into the notehead in most instances, so you can make it look like there are only ordinary crotchets there. Fake some bits of bracket, and there you are.Alan wrote:You could give that measure the time signature 10/8 and write the three
