Question about spacing and measure placement.

I'm just wondering how to take a measure from a system (as in a line of the music) and move it up to the system above it. This is a measure that already has music it. I've tried moving the barlines to squish it and move it up, but it just jacks everything up.

Any help is much appreciated.

Select the whole of the line plus the extra bar and use "Layout > Format > Make into system"
