anyone know when the next version of sibelius is comming out? Is it being beta tested? Anyone have any information on the next version of sibelius at all ?

The length of time between releases is contracting.
Sibelius 1.0 for Windows came out in October 1998; Sibelius 1.4 (the last free upgrade for v.1) came out in November 2000.
Sibelius 2 came out in November 2001 - i.e. three years after v.1
Sibelius 3 came out October 2003 - i.e 2 years after v.2
Sibelius have made it clear that they need to bring out new features (i.e. new versions), because, as they say, fixing bugs doesn't contribute to their income stream.
Hm.m.m.... maybe in the short term, and I can understand the fetish about keeping up or leap-frogging with Finale's new programs/features. But in the longer term they will need to do more with the numerous bugs in Sibelius than just introduce bigger, faster and more subtle bugs in each new version, as has been their policy up until now.
