This seems like a minor bug, but it's still annoying.

When I go to File -> Save As the dialogue-box opens. I tick the box that says "Hide Suffix" and every single time I look at the file that was saved it is displayed WITH suffix. When I then go to the finder choose I for Information and hide the suffix it is really hidden.

This is really annoying and I don't know if Sibelius already has a bug-track for this.

Is this working for anybody?

Hi there

You should post this on the main Sibelius tech forum as there you will get an answer quickly, and also find out if it's a known problem.

It's not working properly for me, but I don't find it really annoying.

Hope that helps

This is on our list of things to fix in a future version. I'm afraid it's not a super high priority, but it's definitely on the list.

Jeremy, Daniel, thanks for the feedback. As I wrote in the first post, it's obviously a minor bug, but still annoying.

And it seems 6.2 finaly fixed that bug. Bueno!

Update: Not there yet. oh man, this is bad. Well, when "saving as" Sibelius 6.2 still creates files with the extension, although the box to hide the extension is marked.

But now here's a novum: When I "save as" and replace an existing file, interestingly Sibelius 6.2 creates a file with hidden extension. So a fix can't be that far away...

Hoping on a final fix soon.

1st posted this march. 5 month pass -> still no fix from Sibelius. This can't be that hard to fix (although it's not a high priority bug it still should be fixed occasionally, right?).

There has been no update released since 6.2. Bumping this thread has no effect, as this isn't an official forum.

I disagree. At least it rises the awareness about this issue. And the more people being aware of this the more people will complain the sooner Avid will fix this.
I think that's the way it goes, right?

Sort of proves what Jeremy said, doesn't it? This is a nice little forum but it's unofficial and no-one from Avid looks in here any more. Things are quite here and Avid have their own forum anyway, so why bother?

People wanting to report bugs and buglets only have to post on the official forum to get some sort of response. If it's a bug, Avid will acknowledge it and put it on the 'to do' list.
