Hello guys,

This has been a headache for me, I hope anybody can help! I want to make the size of bars individual for each instrument, like in many scores by Lutoslawski or Penderecki. That means: each bar is alone at a system/line, but each instrument ends that bar at a different point. Right now I have all staves with the same size, but long blank spaces to the right of those with less notes. These are the ones I want to shorten!

This picture below my help understand the problem. How to make the Cb. line shorter? Is there a way to achieve that in Sibelius?

Thank you!
Felipe

You will need to select the part of the staff you want to hide and use an Instrument Change to No Instrument (Hidden). You'll find this under All Instruments in the family Others (you have to scroll down a bit).

If View > Hidden Objects is ticked, you will be able to see the grey rectangle which marks the Instrument Change. Drag this to the point you need it. If you need a barline at the end, use the symbol from the Z menu.

Man, this is brilliant! I was about to give up, can't believe it is that simple!
Thank you very much!
