Hi,

Slightly long and involved question - I'm interested in changing sibelius's interpretation of the term "swing" in tempo markings and wondered if people know how to do that. At the moment, it interprets duplet quavers in swing tempo as falling on the first and third of a triplet quaver i.e. Image That's a pretty standard way of interpreting things, but I've never felt that it's quite 'correct' in the sense that jazz musicians simply don't play like that. So, just for fun, I'd like to get it to divide the beat up into two notes using the golden ratio, i.e. (1+sqrt(5)) / 2 or phi (I can't post URLs, but wiki if you want more info re the golden ratio) and have the first quaver take up the first, larger length of time within the beat and the second take the remainder. That make sense? Anyone know how to do it?

Nick
