Greetings. I am a complete beginner. I purchased Sibelius in order to type in then transpose songs for my partner, to help her when the score is too high or low.
One piece to which I have afforded this treatment is Dvorak: Songs my Mother Taught me.
This piece is unusual.
It has a singer's part in 2-4 timing and piano in 6-8.
I have never seen such a thing before.
I have been unable to assign different timings to the separate lines. Sibelius defaults each part to the timing of the other when a change is made.
I'm guessing this might be hard to override. Can anybody help please?

You have to fake this with invisible bar lines, creating new ones and doing the same for the time signatures, and then use basic theory knowledge to rewrite one of the parts in the other time signature.

I'd rewrite the piano part in 2/4 with triplet quavers and leave it like that! Any pianist should be able to play it just as easily as if it were in 6/8.
