Expressions are misplaced

I am notating a brass quartet. I have attached a forte dynamic to the first note for each instrument. It is placed too far to the left and there is a grayed forte in the correct place. Also there are several dynamics on the 2nd tpt that are too low but only in the first half of the piece. The rest are fine.

I figured it out. I had been trying out different staff sizes, different space between staves and systems and that is when the expressions moved. What I ended up doing was creating a new blank file with the time signature, key signature and the instruments. Then I copied and pasted the contents of the file that had the problem.
