Trying to open a Music XML file created by Dorico 2 in Sibelius Ultimate results either in Sibelius crashing or in a score full of mistakes … VERY frustrating as I wanted to share some Scores written in Dorico with someone using Sibelius.

Is there a way to solve this problem?

In the meantime I’ll simply stop using Dorico (which was not really cheap to buy).

There are two different types of xml files Sibelius will deal with. I don't know if Dorico exports the one Sibelius can use. Or export from Dorico as a midi. It may not be what you want, but it may be something.

Dorico is able to export both compressed and uncompressed files, and both don't really work in Sibelius.

This is the official answer to the problem I got from Daniel at Steinberg in the Dorico forum:

"I'm sorry to say that MusicXML export in Dorico is still at an embryonic stage of development, and it's missing quite a few things"

Not really a consolation.

If you have MuseScore, see if they will convert there and then move those files into sib. I usually have a lot of success doing that.
