Hi. I'm wondering if there is a way to hide the staff of an ossia? I'm not talking about hiding unwanted measures, but in removing the actual 5 line staff/stave. The reason that I want to do this is to depict alternate rhythmic possibilities for performance. This is common in Baroque music, where, for instance, you might have a written eighth note, but that could also be performed as a sixteenth, so a sixteenth note flag (without a notehead) will be written above the staff over the eighth note.

I thought the best way to achieve this would be to make an ossia, change the notehead to 7 (no notehead), hide any unnecessary rests, and then hide the ossia staff. All well and good except for the last bit, which I haven't quite figured out how to do.

Thanks,
Mark

Make an instrument change to "No instrument hidden" (select the ossia bar/bars first). (which is what ahppens when the ossia is not visible. The staff is still there, just hidden.
